Pick a page below to view some of the pictures I've taken of lightning, all of it in the Dallas, Texas area so far. I'm fairly new at shooting lightning (and photography in general!), but I was able to catch a few bolts of lightning during the numerous thunderstorms in this area.

My first lightning shots with the new Canon Digital Rebel.

My first experimentation with a cheap (2 megapixel) digital camera.  I was pleasantly surprised by what it could do.  But the hail in this storm was more impressive than the lightning.

Another near-miss.  A mild thunderstorm but with very visible lightning that fizzled just as I got my camera setup.

A storm with some very nice cloud-to-ground lightning, which almost completely disappeared once I had my camera setup.  Managed to catch a couple bolts.

A very impressive supercell.  Most of these pictures are of the cloud formations, but I got some pictures of lightning just after sunset.
